Kiss A Pig
The Kiss-A-Pig contest is a 12 year tradition occurring at the end of the week long Loudoun County Fair. The Loudoun County Fair will be celebrating its 75th year, and thanks to the support and donations of our community, it continues to be one of the longest running traditions in the county. The Kiss-A-Pig contest is a very popular tradition of the fair and is one that gives our generous contestants the opportunity to raise money that will go towards the upkeep of our grounds, maintenance of the multiple barns & buildings and youth programs.
After months of creative fundraising by each contestant, a crowd gathers on the last night of the fair to see which lucky winner will be locking lips with a real pig. The contestant that raises the most money is the lucky winner and will be announced in front of the grandstand crowd on Saturday night at the start of the rodeo.
This is a fun tradition and most importantly, a tradition that allows the Loudoun County Fair to continue to provide great family entertainment while focusing on the positive impact of the children on the community. Please take a moment to look through the 2010 Kiss-A-Pig contestants, stop by their businesses, say hello and show your support by giving big.
Although this is an event that promotes a great cause, we hope all involved will have fun and make this an exciting time with their community. Who is your favorite? Give, and watch them pucker up.
All money raised through the Kiss-A-Pig competition goes directly back into the fairgrounds for maintenance and upkeep on all barns, buildings and grounds, as well as scholarships and awards presented to the 4-H youth. The Loudoun County Fair is a 100% non-profit organization that is run by a 100% volunteer staff.
Congratulations to our 2009 Kiss-A-Pig winner, Brad Gable of Southern Trust Mortgage, Leesburg, VA.
