2023 Loudoun Fair & Associates Scholarship Recipients

Alisa Hart

Alisa Hart

Miss Alisa Hart is the recipient of a 2023 Loudoun Fair & Associates scholarship in the amount of $3,000. Alisa is a homeschool graduate who has been involved in multiple 4-H clubs over the past seven years. She has served in various officer and leadership positions. She is currently President of the Rabbit and Cavy Club and an active member of the Canterlopes Horse Club. In addition, Alisa is a Virginia 4-H Horse Program Ambassador this year participating in equine outreach events and leadership workshops. Alisa was inducted as a Virginia 4-H All Star in June 2023 for her outstanding 4-H participation and service. All Star is the highest recognition a 4-Her can achieve.

Alisa is an enthusiastic participant in the Loudoun County Fair. In addition to performing her routine club responsibilities, she is always attentive to the needs of her fellow exhibitors, acting as mentor and supporter. Alisa engages the Fair’s visitors by educating them on her projects and her experiences in 4-H and the Fair. She has helped organize and execute many of her respective clubs’ Fair demonstrations including the rabbit portion of the Round Robin competition, the Rabbit Hopping competition for parents, the rabbit parade of breeds, horse parade of breeds and parade of equine disciplines. Alisa was an invaluable asset to the 2022 Sykes Hall Committee by helping with set-up, exhibit check-in, and serving as a judging assistant.

Beyond 4-H and the Fair, Alisa has contributed to the wider Loudoun community by sharing her knowledge of horse grooming, tacking, and riding skills with young learners at two local farms. At her church, she is a Vacation Bible School volunteer group leader and has helped prepare and provide holiday meals to families in need.

In the fall, Alisa will be attending Northern Virginia Community College pursuing her A. S. in General Science. She plans to subsequently transfer to a four-year institution to further her educational pursuits. The Loudoun Fair & Associates Board of Directors is honored to recognize and congratulate Alisa on all her past achievements and wishes her well in her future endeavors.

Aby Fioramonti

Abigail Fioramonti

Miss Abigail Fioramonti is the recipient of a 2023 Loudoun Fair & Associates scholarship in the amount of $2,500. Aby is a graduate of Woodgrove High School. She has been a member of the 4-H Canterlopes Horse Club for six years. In addition to serving in multiple club officer positions including Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, Aby also demonstrated her leadership by helping coordinate several club community service events. She served as a senior member of the club’s Drill Team mentoring younger members in learning their horsemanship skills. Beyond the local level, Aby has competed in Virginia State 4-H Horse shows.

At the Loudoun County Fair, Aby has always been attentive to her club responsibilities. She engages with the public sharing information about her project and assists her club leaders with logistics in facilitating the equine demonstrations that occur throughout Fair Week.

Outside of 4-H and the Fair, Aby actively participated in her school’s World Languages and Cultures Honor Society and Science National Honor Society where she served as Co-Vice President. She also served as a Team Leader in her job at Chick-fil-a and was a volunteer ‘Charm Girl’ helping customers at Ketterman’s Jewelers with their holiday shopping. Throughout middle and high school Aby challenged herself with advanced level coursework and maintained an exemplary GPA.

Aby has been accepted into the Accelerated Pathway to Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Elon University. The Loudoun Fair & Associates Board of Directors congratulates her on her accomplishments and wishes her much success in the future.

Reaghan Harris

Reaghan Harris

Miss Reaghan Harris is a Briar Woods High School graduate and the recipient of a 2023 Loudoun Fair & Associates scholarship in the amount of $2,000. Reaghan has been a 4-H member for ten years. She served as the Temple Hall Non-Ownership Sheep Club’s Historian and helped with their Backpack Buddies community service. During her time as a member of the Rabbit and Cavy Club, Reaghan volunteered to help with the Morven Park Easter event and visits with senior citizens in local retirement communities. At the Loudoun County Fair Reaghan always lends a hand. From moving hay bales and filling corn pits to assisting Fair staff with office tasks, she can be counted on to be thorough, enthusiastic, and reliable.

Outside of 4-H and Fair, Reaghan has demonstrated a broad spectrum of community involvement and leadership. At her school, these include membership in the National Honor Society, Briar Strong Leaders, and the Briar Woods Basketball Team. She has also volunteered with the National Charity League and the Young Life Christian Program.

This fall, Reaghan will be attending West Virginia University where she will study Communications. The Loudoun Fair & Associates Board of Directors congratulates Reaghan on her accomplishments and wishes her well in her future endeavors.

Taylor Miller

Taylor Miller

Miss Taylor Miller is the recipient of a 2023 Loudoun Fair & Associates scholarship in the amount of $1,500. Taylor is a graduate of Loudoun Valley High School. She has been an active member of 4-H for over ten years participating in multiple clubs. She has also served on the Loudoun County 4-H Honor Council since 2019. The Honor Council is a select group of senior 4-H members who are responsible for organizing and implementing countywide 4-H activities and promoting 4-H in the community. Taylor’s leadership roles over the years include serving as Vice President and Treasurer of the Beef Club.

Taylor has always been extremely supportive of the Loudoun County Fair. In addition to her routine club responsibilities, she has participated in the Opening Ceremony, helped with organizing the Animal Dress Up competition, and assisted in the Snack Shack. She also routinely enters her jellies, needlecrafts, and baked goods in the Fair’s home economics competitions.

Outside of 4-H and the Fair, Taylor supports the community by volunteering at the Loudoun County Animal Shelter and the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter.

In the fall, Taylor will be attending Radford University where she will be studying Psychology. The Loudoun Fair & Associates Board of Directors congratulates Taylor and wishes her well in her future pursuits.

Andrew Karcher

Andrew Karcher

Mr. Andrew Karcher is the recipient of a 2023 Loudoun Fair & Associates scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Andrew is a Briar Woods High School graduate. He has been a 4-H member for four years enrolled in the Alpaca and Llama Club. Andrew has served as the club’s President, Vice President, and Treasurer. His leadership also includes serving as a 4-H Camp Counselor. At the Loudoun County Fair, Andrew has always been conscientious about his club and Fair responsibilities, including animal care, stall duties, demonstrations and educating the public about his project.

Outside of 4-H and Fair, Andrew has been a member of his school’s National Honor Society and has volunteered with Mobile Hope, Lost Dog and Cat Rescue, and a project supporting youth literacy in the community.

Andrew has been accepted at James Madison University where he will be studying Chemistry. The Loudoun Fair & Associates Board of Directors congratulates Andrew on his accomplishments and wishes him well in the future.

Every year, Loudoun Fair & Associates, Inc. awards scholarships to several high school seniors pursuing higher education.  These select 4-H members have demonstrated service to the Fair, their clubs, and their community during their 4-H careers.  Since 1992, more than 90 Loudoun youth have benefitted from these scholarship funds.
